With 92,601 new car sales registered so far this year the industry is up 27% year on year
(figures to October 31st 2014)
The latest new car sales stats released today show that 2014 sales are outstripping all earlier forecasts. Most commentators in the industry were predicting sales of between 85,000-90,000 units at the start of this year. However with two full months left in 2014 the motor trade has already accounted for almost 93,000 new registrations.
This has been a really positive year for the Motor Trade in Ireland and with continued strong sales we should begin to see the shortage of stock in the used car market begin to ease with used values returning to normal.
Volkswagen, Toyota and Ford retaining the top three respective manufacturer positions for new car registrations, continuing the trend of recent years
The Volkswagen Golf, Nissan Quasqai, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta respectively retaining the top four model spots, unchanged from 2013 standings (figures year to date to 31st October 2014)
